FAQ
Are misting systems safe for kids and pets?
Regulations prevent anyone from calling pest control chemicals “safe,” even when plant-based. However, most misting systems use pyrethrins or pyrethroids, compounds derived from chrysanthemums that target insects and break down quickly. They have a very different safety profile than lawn products like Sevin Dust, which contain carbaryl and are far more toxic to mammals.
Can the system be turned off or adjusted?
Yes. The system comes with a programmable controller so you can set misting times or turn it off entirely. A remote control option is also available, allowing you to trigger an extra spray without walking to the drum. This is especially useful before heading outside or hosting guests.
Is this better than spraying or fogging?
Misting systems offer continuous, targeted protection, unlike sprays or fogging, which provide temporary relief and require repeat visits. With a misting system, the treatment happens automatically at peak mosquito hours, keeping your yard protected without scheduling or reminders. For many homeowners, that consistency is a major advantage.
What does an automatic mosquito misting system cost?
Costs vary based on the size of your yard and the number of nozzles required. Most of my systems fall between $2,500–$4,500 installed. I’ll give you a straightforward, custom quote; no upselling
What do I need at my house for installation?
You’ll need a standard 110v outdoor outlet and a clear space about 42" x 42" for the system’s 55-gallon drum, ideally tucked near your house wall and out of sight for the best aesthetic experience. A garden hose spigot nearby is preferred but not required.
How long does installation take?
Most installations are completed in a single day. For larger or more complex properties, it might take two. I take care of everything, from layout and installation to final cleanup and walkthrough.
